Updated: Jan 11, 2022

Jon Benton and George Sykes earn the Millers three points in a dominant performance over Hashtag United. The visitors dominated the pace of play all game, disallowing the Tags from a significant amount of significant chances.

Sykes put the visitors into the lead in the 17th minute with a thunderous strike, following a series of shoddy defending from Hashtag United and a clever pass from Benton.

The Tags had a chance of their own in the 10th minute after David Hughes was caught out in his box. However, Carlos Flood failed to slot the ball into the open net.

Aveley dominated the pace of play all game, making the Tags play to the Millers pros whilst exposing Hashtag’s weaknesses,

Aveley scored their second goal in the 50th minute from a defensive error from Matthew Wooldridge, which gifted Benton a golden opportunity that he took with his left foot, swerving the ball into the top left corner.

Aveley moves three points clear at the top of the league following their win tonight, whilst Hashtag remains 6th momentarily and with their win streak crushed.
