Joni Vukaj smashes in his first goal for Hashtag United as they squeeze past Tilbury FC.

Joni Vukaj's right-footed strike in the 56th minute was enough for Hashtag to take the three points in their first home game since January 29th, temporarily boosting the tags up to 7th, just a couple of places away from the playoff spots.

It was a cagey affair in the first half, with both sides only managing to pick up a few chances from tricky angles,

Jermaine Francis made his home debut, with his chance in the 12th minute.

Ultimately, Tilbury came closest to scoring in the first half, with a freekick in the 37th minute, their shot smashed into the crossbar and out.

Tomo Anderson solidified his rearrival in the 50th minute after Harry Haysom picked up a knock, forcing him to come off.

The Tags were ruthless from the start of the second half, committing to far more challenges and eventually breaking the deadlock with Joni Vukaj smashing the ball into the bottom left corner with his right foot following a Messi-Esque run and pass from Sam Bantick.

Love Island superstar Toby Aromolaran came on in the 63rd minute and added an additional boost of pace to an already rapid attacking force.

The strikeforce of Aromolaran, Bantick and Francis pressed at every opportunity in an attempt to win the ball and create a chance that could have ended the game.

Next Saturday, the Tags take on 10th place AFC Sudbury, hoping to build off this win and push towards the playoff spots.
